I inadvertently bought the military edition of "How to Train Goldfish Using Dolphin Training Techniques". It has additional chapters such as "Sapping a Castle Wall", "Attaching Mines to Ships" and "Taking out a Diver". While I am not averse to my darling Goldie learning these undoubtedly character-forming skills, I feel readers of this book should be warned in advance that there can be adverse effects to teaching one's goldfish these skills.
After waving goodbye to the fire department a second time (the first was after "Sapping a Castle Wall" somehow set fire to the living room), retrieving Goldie from a neighbor's tree, and speaking to my insurance company, I feel I have to be the voice of reason to potential buyers of this book.
The book suggests that one use a Limpet Mine (catalog number MUN 6061, Type 6, Mark II) in the chapters "Sapping a Castle Wall" and "Attaching Mines to Ships". I can now tell you that it isn't necessary. A Maindeka should be quite sufficient, and does not result in a 25 ft crater where one's living room once proudly stood.
Also, "Taking out a Diver", which we tried in the council pool, was not a success. I will report on that after the criminal court case. On advice from my lawyers, I cannot say more now.

Having raised goldfish since I was five I had always been interested in training them. In my teens I had made the mistake of training them using dog techniques. That didn't stick. I thought they had learned "lie down" but it turns out they were just dead. Luckily this book came along. As the previous reviewer said, the chapters include swimming through a hoop, ball pushing, basketball, and ring retrieval. My one complaint is that the author used training techniques take from the common dolphin. It would seem that Bottlenose dolphin techniques would have been more appropriate for goldfish.

It's a thin little book of only 40 pages. My copy is hardbound, without a picture on the cover.

It's got several black-and-white pictures, some of which are quite interesting. Some of the chapters include:

Swimming through a hoop

Ball Pushing

Basketball

Ring Retrieval
