I can recommend it and if down the road anything changes I will update my review to reflect this.
It's been 6 months now and it's still going strong! I've used it to make a whole lot of videos and it's still running on the same set of batteries. The only negative thing I can say about it is that the mirror gets marks and scratches on it too easy. I've covered it with black paper though so it's not a big deal.
2 YEAR UPDATE!
That's right I have had this same turn table now since August 2013. 2 years and 3 months now. It's still going. I of course had to change the batteries since then but I have been using it quite steadily over the past 2 years making Amazon and You Tube videos. I'm talking at least a hundred. I have worked on it a little though. Not because of anything mechanical (motor still fine) but to fix the shaking I noticed that the item on display would have. I took the top off and trimmed down the center 'pole' piece found inside. It made it much smoother. I also painted the mirror top a flat black. I'm upping the star count to a full 5 stars because it has done it's job many times over now. Still happy!
The turntable is 7 x 7 x 2 inches and appears to be made with mostly plastic. It can support a maximum weight capacity of 1.5kg/3.3lbs. The sides are a matte black plastic, and the top section looks to be some type of mirrored plastic. It ships with a piece of thin plastic coating to protect the mirrored section, so make sure to peel that off when it arrives. The mirror is nice but not extremely shiny or scratch-resistant, so if you want to make it shine even more, you might consider purchasing a 7 inch circular glass mirror from your local art and craft supply store.
In terms of the unit itself, it runs only on batteries, not AC power or USB. It requires two C-sized batteries to run, which are not included. You will need a small screwdriver to open the battery compartment, which is located on the bottom of the unit.
The turntable has a small control lever which is located along the edge of the turntable, offering you high speed, off, or low speed. Both on settings turn counterclockwise, but there wasn't a lot of difference between their speeds. The low setting took 40.72 seconds to complete one rotation, and the high setting took 32.82 seconds to complete one rotation. Since it's motorized, it's not silent, but it is quite quiet and smooth and does't wobble at all.
All-in-all, I'm very pleased with it, and have already gotten a lot of use out of it so far. About the only minor quibbles I have about it are that it requires C-type batteries, which I don't normally keep in stock (but will now), and that there isn't more of a difference between the two speed settings. Even still, I would highly recommend it if you're interested in a battery operated turntable.

I have put photos to show the product, but I'm sorry that I just kind of took the photos quickly so there's background stuff that shows in the mirror.
