Endorsements:

In a field that can be so confusing, so complex, Richard Dolan has taken his many years of thinking about UFOs and written a completely fresh overview of the entire subject. . . . This is an ambitious work that truly ties the many different aspects of the subject together. It's rare to find something like this, especially considering the care and thoroughness that went into it.
-- From the Foreword by George Noory, host of Coast to Coast AM.

'As a follow-up to his previous books exploring the relationship between UFOs and the National Security State, historian Richard Dolan widens his perspective to explore all aspects of this provocative phenomenon. In this role, he takes us on a journey that brings to life the subtlety and depth of this rich subject, a truly captivating read.'
--H. E. Puthoff, Ph.D., Director, Institute for Advanced Studies at Austin

UFOs For the 21st Century Mind represents a new kind of book – one that clearly and intelligently addresses literally every aspect and implication of the most maligned, misunderstood and compelling subject in human history. Richard Dolan’s newest work is perfect reading for serious students of ufology as well as the absolute beginner. Inspired, particularly well written, and the product of a first class mind for this or any other century.
--Peter Robbins, coauthor of the British bestseller, Left At East Gate: A First-Hand Account of the Rendlesham Forest UFO Incident, Its Cover-up and Investigation

This is an invaluable treatment of the known facets and seemingly endless implications regarding UFOs, with a much-appreciated focus on the human experience. A job well done, Richard.
-- Sam Maranto, Investigative Researcher

Biographie de l'auteur

Richard Dolan has researched UFOs and related phenomena since the early 1990s. He is the author of the historical series, UFOs and the National Security State (volumes one and two), as well as an analysis of the future, A.D. After Disclosure: When the Government Finally Reveals the Truth About Alien Contact. He has appeared widely on radio and television, including Coast-to-Coast AM, CNN, The History Channel, SyFy, BBC, and elsewhere. Since 2012, Richard has hosted “The Richard Dolan Show,” airing on KGRA Radio. In his writings and interviews, Richard has analyzed the destruction of our political liberties as a result of the UFO cover-up, the possible nature of the non-humans themselves, what their presence means for our civilization, why he believes the cover-up will end within our lifetime, and what is likely to happen after that. With the completion of UFOs for the 21st Century Mind, Richard plans to complete the third volume of UFOs and the National Security State, which will take the history of the UFO reality and cover-up to the present day. In earlier years, Richard had been a Rhodes Scholar finalist, earned a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in History, and received a Certificate in Political Theory at Oxford University. Born in Brooklyn, raised on Long Island, he continues to live in Rochester, New York, where he spent many years raising his family. Visit his website at richarddolanpress.com.

I can't think of a better place to start on the subject of UFOs than this book. Richard is a first rate thinker and presenter of ideas. He's dealing with a very difficult, and unfortunately a very ridiculed subject in our society. But he goes a long way towards making sense of it, notably, that our government is probably lying about what it knows and while it may have had good reasons in the beginning, the secrecy has taken on a life of its own and has created a shadow government that is in many ways unanswerable to our elected government. I find it hard to believe that there's really nothing to this subject and it's all just a disinformation campaign to cover up homegrown military technologies. I think what's going on is out of this world, as hard as that is to believe. Keep an open mind and be skeptical.

I'm a fan of Richard Dolan's prior works on the subject of UFOs and consider him to be one of the foremost researchers in the field. This book, however, just didn't do it for me. It's well written, and Dolan is engaging and entertaining as always. The problem, for me, is that most of the material discussed is well known by anyone who's read more than a few UFO books. I'm afraid I don't see the need for another write up of classic cases.

I also disagreed with Mr Dolan's conclusions about some of those classic cases, in particular the Gulf Breeze sightings and the Hill abduction, neither of which have much validity in my opinion. Further I didn't care for the way he dismissed the multiverse theory as little more than science fiction; I think we know too little yet to dismiss such philosophical musings out of hand.

My other gripe is there were numerous typos. Nothing too bad, and it doesn't detract from the read, but annoying nonetheless. Maybe this is just a problem in the Kindle edition, but the book needs a good proof reading.

On the plus side I found the later chapters very entertaining, especially the material about physics. Again, Mr Dolan is a good writer who knows how to draw you in and hold your interest. Here he outlines some stimulating stuff.

If you're new to the subject or looking for a sound overview, I would recommend this book. If you've been reading about UFOs for thirty years as I have, you might not like it as well. But, as I did, you'll probably want it anyway.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 A great indepth overview all under one roof! 24 novembre 2014

The most important thing I have to say about this book is that if you are interested in UFO and ET's, but have not read anything on them, or very little. Than this is absolutely the book for you. I am not terribly well read on the subject of this book. UFO's and ET's are a topic which I feel pulled towards every now and again. But usually I feel good and satisfied after reading one text and then I don't come back to it for awhile. This book is dense and filled with a lot of good information and insights, and it is obvious right away that Dolan is a forced to be reckoned with in outright knowledge and current understanding on these topics. I particularly like that he shares his opinions but is also not afraid to come out and state when he feels certain conclusions are far-fetched or stating when he may be wrong or not have all of the information.
In closing, this is just a very well written, well rounded and complete book. Where if you especially want to get a pretty good understanding on what has happened and is happening with these topics in question, between one cover. I would think it would be hard to find a book better than this one!

4.0 étoiles sur 5 A very good and fresh summary of the UFO phenomenon 11 février 2015
Par George Henry - Publié sur Amazon.com

This book provides an excellent summary of the history of the UFO phenomenon. I appreciate Richard Dolan's writing and his approach to the subject. Dolan maintains a reasonable stance in which he pays careful attention to evidence while exhibiting open-mindedness. He seems to occupy a "sweet spot" between unreasonable skepticism and acceptance and promotion of extreme irrational conclusions.

Although I have paid significant attention to UFOlogy for many years, have read several good books on the subject and tend to follow "UFO news" on the Web, and thus much of the material in this book was familiar to me, it is not just a re-hashing of old news and well-worn stories. Even the stories that almost everyone has some familiarity with (such as Battle of Los Angeles, the Roswell crash retrieval, the Betty and Barney Hill abduction...) are recounted in a fresh and interesting way that provides a good summary without boring the reader who has read other accounts; and the book contains several interesting and credible stories that have not been given similar attention my other writers.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Great introduction to UFO phenomenon 3 mai 2014

If you are interested in a "crash course" to Ufology, this is a fantastic choice. As with Richard Dolan's other books, it's well written, factual, credible and straightforward. Not only does it talk about UFOs, but also a lot of related phenomenon. It provides context on famous UFO cases like Roswell, alleged alien abduction, documented cases where UFOs have evaded military aircraft, how UFOs have shut down nuclear missiles, and so on. The last chapter discusses the idea of "disclosure" of extraterrestrials -- and what impacts such an event could have on humanity. If you have any interest in the topic, or even if you are a skeptic, definitely pick up this book. Like me, you'll likely find you cannot put it down!
