je reviens de amazon.com et je vois que il y a toujours une grosse confusion sur ce qu'apporte la prise micro usb, j'avoue que moi aussi je comprend rien.

ceux qui disent que c'est pour brancher un téléphone ou autre périphérique, c'est une prise micro usb FEMELLE, la même que votre téléphone, camera, tablette ou autre, donc a moins d'utiliser un cable micro usb male/male c'est IMPOSSIBLE, ce qui est d'ailleurs ne sert a rien meme si c'etait le cas car vous avez un port usb normal juste a coté, et que pour rappel

les hub usb ou les prise usb sur les pc n'ont jamais eu de port micro usb femelle.

je pensais que cette prise servait sinon a augmenter le courant électrique dans le câble en y branchant un chargeur usb avec un câble micro usb , mais un commentaire de amazon.com apporte le doute, le faite de faire cela aurai fait sauter sa carte mère du a un apport de courant trop important.

cela peut paraître etre une hoax mais c'est le principe même des clé USB KILLER qui se charge avec un condensateur en courant électrique et envoie tout sur le port usb, faisant cramé toute la carte mère.

de plus il y a aucune information null part sur cette fichu boite ou dans la description

donc pour moi le micro usb est un port d'alimentation, mais il y a pas plus d'instruction, ce qui est vraiment incroyable, car si ce câble peut vraiment faire cramer une carte mere lorsque il est brancher avec le micro usb sur un chargeur c'est dangereux, et je ne sais pas vous mais je ne vais pas risqué mon ordi pour le tenté

ce qui est etrange c'est le seul genre de cable que j'ai trouver avec une prise micro usb femelle en plus de la prise usb classique, et que les ancien cable usb active 2.0 de ugreen n'on jamais eu de micro usb en plus, au pire j'en ai vue avec 2 usb male, ou la au moins c'est claire il devait etre brancher sur un pc.

apres pour avoir essayé avec une logitech brio qui ne fonctionnait que en 30 fps avec un cable usb de 3m, rajouter cette extension, ce qui fait quand meme 3 metre + 5 donc 8 metre au total, et bien la brio arrive a faire du 60 fps a nouveau.

mais cela m'empeche pas de me demander a quoi sert ce micro usb au final.

J'ai acheté ce câble d'extension USB 3,0 Ugreen de 5 mètres pour pouvoir, couplé avec un autre câble de 3 mètres faire une "rallonge" USB.
J'avais auparavant des fils qui traînaient dans le passage, la solution pour remédier à ce problème a été pour moi de mettre des moulures électriques le long du mur pour pouvoir mettre la rallonge le long du mur. Une fois tout mis en place, et le tout relié à des prises USB 3,0 murales, l'expérience s'est révélée être un franc succès. J'ai désormais des 2 prises USB 3,0 murales, une étant reliée au pc. Sur l'autre prise, j'ai branché un hub USB. Concernant le débit, aucun problème, mes fichiers se transfèrent bien en vitesse USB 3,0.
Concernant le port micro USB, je n'ai aucun besoin de l'utiliser, malgré la longueur, puisque tout fonctionne très bien comme cela.
Au niveau du rapport qualité prix, je n’ai pas été déçu, le produit transpire la qualité, on sent que c’est du solide. Malgré tout, je trouve dommage que nos homologues allemands puissent se le procurer à presque 12 euros quand c’est presque 16 en France.
Pour le côté esthétique, rien à redire, le produit est bien fini et à un design très épuré à mon gout.

Ce produit est donc un produit que je recommande si vous voulez, comme moi, avoir une rallonge USB 3,0 parfaitement fonctionnelle et esthétique.

Utilisé en tant que rallonge pour le case de VR Valve Index, il fonctionne sans problème (sans branché le micro USB). A voir dans le temps.

acheté pour un HTC vive, Il est difficile de trouver des câbles usb compatible c'est le troisième câble que je commande car ca ne marchais pas, et celui-ci marche à peu pres.
Déjà pensé à brancher un chargeur usb externe j'usqu'a 2A à la petite prise sinon ça déconne, (chargeur de téléphone standard) dans l'ensemble ca fonctionne, mais des-fois (rarement) j'ai des soucis avec une manette qui est pas reconnu, soit elle met du temps à être visible (30sec), soit elle veut pas se synchronisé, changé de port usb, si ca marche pas branché le casque un coup en direct sur le pc sans utiliser la rallonge, ca va le debugger et c'est reparti :)

Je souhaitais déporté clavier et souris à quelques mètres du PC. Branchement câble sur PC puis hub usb sur lequel est raccordé clavier + souris. Freeze fréquent de plusieurs secondes sur souris. Testé avec 3 hub usb différents, avec ou sans alimentation externe. Un seul équipement OK. Inutilisable dans ma configuration je vais renvoyer et remplacer cette équipement.

Alimenté par le port Micro USB (5V 2A ou 5V 1A) le câble rallonge usb3 de 10 Mètres est compatible Oculus Link.
Test de la bande passante alimenté par le port Micro USB 5V 2A donne un débit de transfert de données de 2.1Gbps suffisant pour joué sur la plateforme Oculus Rift et steam VR avec l'Oculus Quest.

Super câble, j'avais commandé le câble sponsorisé par Amazon qui a fonctionné 2 jours après il a commencé à déconner, celui-ci est top, super finition et fonctionne nickel pour allonger les câble de mon oculus rift

I purchased this USB active repeater cable for the third (rear) sensor in my Oculus Rift setup and have actually tried both the 5m and 10m versions of these cables.

I initially purchased the 10m version as I was planning to hide the cable around the room in some very small trunking (i.e. 12 x 8 mm) but when the cable arrived it turns out it actually has another large repeater halfway through the cable at the 5m point. It doesn't actually specify this anywhere in the description so I wasn't expecting it! As a result this cable wasn't going to offer any benefit over the 5m version as I will need to use larger 25 x 16 mm trunking instead and try to conceal the female USB socket inside it.

A little disappointing that I need to use bigger trunking for essentially a single cable but with a little modification of the trunking with a Stanley knife it was possible to conceal the USB join inside the trunking and put the lid over the top without it being obvious there's any kind of bodge underneath!

Both the 5m and 10m cables seem to work with the Oculus Rift HMD and the sensors which is promising because the Oculus Rift is notoriously fussy about its USB connections. On 2 occasions I noticed that the rear sensor which is connected to the 5m UGREEN Active Repeater cable complains that there is poor sensor tracking but this is only visible if I click the Devices tab in the Oculus Home. It still seems to work fine in 360 degrees mode though despite the warning. I have checked it every time I've launched Oculus (which is a LOT!) and it's normally fine 99% of the time though. Also, I've not had to unplug and plug the cable back in either like some other reviewers have.

Interestingly my friend who also bought an additional sensor has had more trouble with the Monoprice USB 2.0 5m active cable that came with his sensor and has needed to unplug/plug it in more than once. Perhaps it's just a quirk of the Oculus Rift sensors being especially fussy if they are connected to any kind of extension cable.

The female Micro USB port seems to be a useless addition to me and I certainly wouldn't want to plug a charger into that for a 'power hungry' device. It's not clear how that's actually wired up inside and due to that lack of clarity it could potentially cause serious damage to your motherboard or expensive USB device such as an Oculus Rift HMD.

Overall I'm very happy with the 5m version of this cable which deserves 4 stars but felt it was not made clear that the 10m cable has another repeater halfway through it and I ended up having to return it.

UPDATE 11/12/2019: I am surprised (and pleased) to say that this 5m repeater cable also works with the new Oculus Link Beta and works perfectly with a both the 1m and 3m Anker PowerLine USB 3.0 to Type-C cables with no obvious latency or graphics/performance issues. I tried many other cables and couldn't get them to detect a USB 3 connection with the Oculus Quest for Oculus Link.

I was looking for a good usb3 compatible extension cable that would work with oculus link.
In case you don’t know what oculus link is. It is a new ability of the oculus quest to play pcvr games via the oculus suite and a compatible pc via a usb3 cable.
I saw this one but wasn’t entirely sure if it would work. Especially as there were next to no reviews on this.
However there were some saying it worked with the sensors for the original oculus rift and one updated review just breafly mentioning it worked.
So I ordered this and a 1.8m amazon basics usb3 cable downloaded the oculus software and installed it. Then when prompted connected the cables and finished setup.
Once done I installed some demos then connected the quest to my pc (MSI Trident 3) via one of the front USB ports (the one with the lightning bolt) and tried them out. Well they worked just fine. The next thing to try was steam vr. So I installed it and downloaded a free doctor who interactive experience and that worked too.
The best thing about using this cable though is because you have to use a second cable if you accidentally pull, tug or get caught up in it then it will just separate from the other cable avoiding damaging your USB ports on either your pc or quest. And that is only a good thing.

I used the 10m variant of this cable to connect the rear (third) Oculus Rift sensor in my son's bedroom. If I connect to the motherboard's 'normal' USB 3.0/USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports (the blue ones, provided by the chipset/CPU), then the sensor connects at USB 2.0 speeds. After a bit of trial and error, I connected it to the onboard USB 3.1 Gen 2 port (provided by an Asmedia chip) and so far it is working perfectly at USB 3.0 speeds, every time.

It is worth noting that on this motherboard (Asus Maximus X Hero) there are TWO Asmedia USB 3.1 Gen 2 controllers, one for the rear 2 ports and the other supplies the onboard front panel header. I bought a back panel plate to connect to this to access the otherwise dormant second Asmedia chip. That way the 3 sensors are each on separate USB 3 controllers without the need for an add-in card.

Good cable so far.

The Ugreen usb 3.0 Extension cable is well-built and durable, apart from the annoying repeater halfway through the 15-metre cable its probably one of the best and most popular USB 3.0 Extension cables going, the others seem to either be hit or miss with popular devices like the rift or other usb devices that require more power.

I personally found 15-metre run was too short, 20 metre would have been perfect but rather than get another 10 metre Ugreen extension cable and chain them together, bought the Startech 3 metre usb 3 cable (StarTech.com USB3SAB10 10 ft/3 m: ASIN : B002GNRZR0 ) together with the StarTech.com 7 Port USB 3.0 Hub ( ASIN : B00L07AAZM).

The above products set me back roughly £55 but it's a working combination for anyone that wishes to run a USB hub (7 ports) and power up devices that require more power like headphone Amps like the Creative X3 or other devices. I found Targus and other USB 3 hubs to fail with certain usb sticks but the Startech 7 usb hub + 3 metre startech cable connected to my 15metre Ugreen extension cable works perfectly fine.

The bonus with the above is I now get an 18 metre USB 3.0 run and 7 USB devices can be connected like external hard drives and even powerful headphone amps work just fine (tested with external powered 2.5 hard drive and Creative X3 headphone amp works flawless).
