5.0 étoiles sur 5 More powerful than Abnormalize? 14 août 2014
Par Cassandra Hernandez Ruiz - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: CD Achat vérifié
I have only ever been initiated into hearing Ling Tosite Sigure's music from their single for the anime series Psycho-Pass. I think part of my love for the anime series might be they had a hand in the opening theme song (OP), Abnormalize.

This Summer 2014 actually been following the anime series Tokyo Ghoul and heard something that resembled the music seen in Psycho-Pass's first OP, so I was interested to see how it would sound. Sounds deeply emotional and beautiful! TK otherwise known as Toru Kitajima's Unravel may actually sound better than Abnormalize or at the very least is much more powerful. I feel the need to compare them since it has tones reminiscent of Abnormalize but probably because TK was singing back then in the Abnormalize single too.

This is actually noted as Toru Kitajima's individual work on a single for an anime television series unlike when he is the vocalist in the band, Ling Tosite Sigure. If he can do more music like this by himself then I really hope he does more. Unravel is a song I really wanted to go out there and buy as fast as possible. Too good!

Unravel Limited Edition CD
-Has a dark black packaging with artwork that looks like something seen from the Tokyo Ghoul anime series
-The disc itself looks very sophisticated in red and black

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Still hooked since Abnormalize 13 janvier 2015
Par Kyle Dudley - Publié sur Amazon.com

Ling has had me hooked since I heard Abnormalize from the Psycho-Pass OP. What I really like about Unravel is that it captures the expression that Tokyo Ghoul provides in the show: being afraid of what darkness or fault lies inside you, then learning you have to accept it. TK beautifully expresses that in the song with him being the 'monster' with lyrics such as "don't even look at me, I don't wan't to hurt you" and "yet you laugh looking right at ME" as if the 'me' is emphasized in the lyrics to show that the second person isn't afraid of the true self of TK, so to speak, and accepts it. Also in the part with the "breakable, unbreakable... driving me mad" showing the conflicts between to sides of himself then awesomely unleashing out with the guitar as if throwing the emotions away also really gets me. This is my interpretation of this at least and I think that what I really feel about this can't be put into words. I love this band and the album. Very well done.

(Hopefully all the lyrics I mentioned are correct)

Like most of you who are thinking about buying this CD, I fell in love with the opening theme for "Tokyo Ghoul" within seconds. That song, of course, being "unravel" by Tōru Kitajima of the band Ling Tosite Sigure. The melodic, beautiful whispers which steadily evolve into a symphony of excitement and color; hell of an opening, that's for sure. I knew right away that I had to own a piece of this magic, that I needed to have access to that incredible song whenever I wanted; some music you just have to go the distance for. Then I saw this CD available after I purchased "Tokyo Ghoul" itself on Blu-Ray, and I wasted no time in buying it.

What you get on this CD is four songs, and that may seem a little unfair given that you'll be paying about $20 for it. But take my word for it, it's worthy every single penny if you loved the opening theme of "Tokyo Ghoul"! The first song is the full version of "unravel" and it's every bit as heart-pumping and glorious as it is in its condensed form; speaking of the shorter version used in the show's opening, that serves as the fourth and final track, and it's an awesome way to close out the CD. The second song is "Fu re te Fu re ru", a song that I assume appears within the show (I only just got Tokyo Ghoul and haven't really watched much of it); while not as entertaining as "unravel" it's still a fantastic song and helps you face the day with renewed vigor. Track three is an instrumental; calming and somber, it's a good lull in the action from an otherwise energetic and excited CD.

May I just say that these songs genuinely keep me going, and they may very well do the same for you. After a long day at school and work, my drive home becomes even more joyous when I've got TK's epic lyrics to keep me energized and upbeat for that last trek home. A good song can make all the difference between going to bed worn out or resigning to your bed with a sense of renewed spirit; with this CD, you have four songs that I find genuinely feel take you a better train of thought. Music is a very important thing to me, and when it's great, it makes me feel a little great myself.

While it's kind of a trivial matter, the case of the of the CD itself is rather pretty. The colors contrast strikingly and leave me with a sense that I've been given a genuine work of art. Prettiest CD in my collection at the moment.

If you love the opening theme for "Tokyo Ghoul", then by God, get this CD! That opening was a drug for me when I first became aware of it, and I know there are a lot of fans out there who feel the same. Honestly, I never get tired of hearing these songs. What are you waiting for? Buy, buy, buy!

This is an absolutely beautiful single, inside and out, from the appearance of disc itself to TK's wonderful voice. It arrived quickly, in decent packaging, and I've been loving it for months now. The seller is reputable and the price was fair as well. It's even cheaper now than when I bought it so if you're a Ling Tosite Shigure fan or a fan of Tokyo Ghoul, this is a must buy.
