Présentation de l'éditeur

***Warning: Contains scenes of an adult nature, and a hero so mouth-watering, he will put you off chocolate***

What happens when the worlds of two tortured souls collide?

Angelina Bradshaw has always believed that she does not need a man in her life. That's what she has been telling herself her entire adult life. She feels worlds apart from her family’s dreams for her to meet a man, settle down, and have babies. She certainly can’t be doing that because love just gets in the way. She has a 'go to' guy and that's enough for her.

Living in rural Cornwall, she is bored and in desperate need of adventure, so when a family friend offers her a job in London, there's no hesitation. She expected adventure, she expected a new start, but what she didn't expect was to meet a man who would turn her life upside-down. Seth Jacobs is hot, sexy, and can't understand why Angelina doesn't want him. No one has ever said no to Seth Jacobs—in fact—they all fall at his feet.

Seth pursues her relentlessly and Angelina fights him at every corner. He is the only man who has ever affected her, and the need to run from him is immense. However, Seth is not one to give up so easily. He soon finds himself on a mission, determined to win her heart.

Unfortunately for Angelina, all is not well when her past and present collide after receiving some unwelcoming and frightening news from home. She feels desperate and alone, but most of all, she feels she has to push Seth away before it’s too late.

To make matters worse, a catastrophic secret from the past is revealed, threatening to destroy the one thing, Angelina finally holds dear to her heart.

...and that is why I finished this book! I like to give authors full respect when I'm reading and when a book starts out slow I hope that it picks up at some point. I mean this book had so many good reviews, but I just couldn't get into it.

First, I felt emphasis was placed in areas that really didn't need emphasizing. I would have loved to read more about the chase, but there were several times when a chapter started out with __ month(s) later...that annoys me.

Second, I read in the acknowledgements that this was her first time hiring an editor....need a new one for your next book please. There was going back and forth between past and present tense. That makes me crazy! I always found myself annoyed with the American vs English slang throughout. It probably is just in my head, maybe people in London share a lot of the same words we do. But I couldn't get myself to stick with the accent.

Finally, I didn't really enjoy the story line until the twist at the end. That was a good twist, but I felt the resolution was rushed at times and then not so much at others. I guess for me I had a hard time connecting with the characters throughout the book because the intimate moments were completely unnatural and rushed through.

I wanted to like this book, but had to make myself keep reading. At the beginning I became uncomfortable with the idea that the male lead gave off a stalker vibe and almost put the book down. However, I find it very difficult not to finish a book and persevered, and it did get better in terms of story line. Unfortunately, this book needed some serious editing. There were so many tense errors, sometimes past and present in the same sentence, and frequent use of "I" instead of "me". Other errors: heel instead of heal, here instead of hear, must of instead of must have. Then it began to feel as though the author didn't know how to end the story. More than once I thought, okay, now we're done and I can live with this ending. But there would be some twist that made it go on and on. My advice, get an editor and pick one ending.

I enjoyed the book but wasn't out of my mind for it either. Though it was set in England, I couldn't tell really if the author WAS English or just trying to sound it. The writing was good (not great but ok) but not really well developed. I wanted more from the book, but found it lacking. Overall, though, I stress, I did enjoy the book...

The only thing (despite small editing errors here and there) that TRULY bothered me is the word giggling. While it is the author's choice to use the word for a grown woman (this is a pet peeve of mine), as young children or even teen girls giggle, MEN DO NOT. It annoys me to all out that the author had Seth giggle. Not once, but twice. Men laugh, chuckle, smirk, but they DO NOT GIGGLE. But that is my OCD speaking and hating that part.

Whew!! I feel like I just got off of a roller coaster. This book will take you on the ride of your life. Seth and Angelina met when she barreled into him. She didn't like Seth at all when they first met. She felt that he was a playboy who used women. Her hatred turned to heat later on. It turns out that she was afraid of falling for him so she used dislike to keep her going. Seth hung in there. He met her every challenge. She made me very mad at times by not even giving him a chance. I was going along fine and then there was a WTF moment!!!! That came out of left field to me. Then I was like holy cow how can the author get out of this one. Then there was another WTF moment!!!! No cliffhanger, but you will be exhausted once you finish reading.

Too much like a soap opera. The writing was very amateurish and there were a lot of editing errors. Doesn't anyone proofread anymore? I like to be able to envision the characters in a story, and that was sorely lacking here. There was no pizzazz, and the story did not flow well. I did finish it, but would say if you skip this one, there's no loss.
