Présentation de l'éditeur

The bodies are found in towns and cities around Puget Sound. The young women who are the victims had nothing in common-except the agony of their final moments. But somebody carefully chose them to stalk, capture, and torture...a depraved killer whose cunning is matched only by the depth of his bloodlust. But the dying has only just begun. And next victim will be the most shocking of all...

Biographie de l'auteur

A New York Times bestselling author, Olsen has written eight nonfiction books, five novels, and contributed a short story to a collection edited by Lee Child.

I wasn't sure about this. The main characters seemed a little thin on substance, and the violence was quite graphic in places. However, as this sort of genre goes, it was a good read.

Oh wow, what a great read. Left me wanting more and more each evening, such a great edge of the seat book - I guess my only 'but' would be a slightly disappointing ending that didn't match the rest of the fast pace story.

Quite a thriller! with enough graphic detail to set one's imagination but not too much to be disturbing. A good read.

Victim 6 by Greg Olson is a thrill ride. There is a serial killer on the loose in Washington state who targets young women who seemingly have nothing in common. Detectives Kendall Stark and Josh Anderson are doing their best o piece together the actions of this deranged serial killer and catch him. A young reporter, Serenity also finds her way into the mix and plays with fire by receiving phone calls from the killer.

I thought it was predictable but also thrilling and scary. I may have slept with the light on after finishing it. It's your run of the mill thriller that would be good for the beach or an airplane. I have no doubt that when I'm in the mood for a creepy, suspenseful book I will read another by Olson.

Warning: some of the scenes were quite violent so if that makes you uncomfortable, I would recommend another book.

Gregg Olsen's fiction just gets better and better. And his latest, Victim Six, is his best thriller to date.

Serial killings in western Washington state have the community, and especially a tenacious detective and a young journalist, on alert. Is there a pattern? Who is most in danger? Who is killing people? And... Who is Victim Six?

Each reader has a tough decision to make - whether to race through to answer all the questions or whether to slow down and savor the plot twists, the characters and the language. Either way, Victim Six is a great read.

HASH(0x910bb0cc) étoiles sur 5 I Usually Like Horror/Crime Novels... Not this one 7 juillet 2012

I never want to trash an author. Hell, they are doing something that I wish I could do. That is why I will not trash the author, I will simply tell why I didn't like this book.

The title is Victim Six, so you know that there are going to be at least 6 victims in this book, probably all victims of the same criminal. Well, by the time I had read about Victim 1, and what happened to her, and the reaction of the people of the small town that she lived in, I really didn't want to read any more. But there were still 5 more victims to go.

The subject matter again really doesn't bug me. This book, I would want to say, falls in the neighborhood of American Psycho and Silence of the Lambs. I loved Silence of the Lambs, but I hated American Psycho, and I disliked strongly this book.

I didn't care for killers obviously, but I really didn't care for the protagonists either. The reporter, Serenity, was a stereotypical, do what you need for the story type. The male cop partner, Josh, is also a stereotype. Just too much.

The main character, Kendall, the police detective, is someone who is much more developed, and I did like her and the way she reacted and acted throughout the investigations in the plot line.

I just didn't like the book. I realize that these types of crime exist (this is probably based on murders that took place a few years ago). I just didn't like it.

And the last chapter.... STUPID!!

This is the first book I've purchased by Gregg Olsen and I did so based on the reviews. I like "these types" of books. There are not enough adjectives to describe how truly disgusting this book is. In addition to the perverse nature of ever chapter, the story was difficult to follow. The story jumps around so much, I found myself going back to figure out who the characters were. There is no suspense about who's responsible. The questions of "why" were never answered and the ending is as predictable as a cut-rate horror film. I am ashamed for reading the entire book.

HASH(0x910b9894) étoiles sur 5 Victim 6 is my fave so far. 8 février 2010

I enjoyed reading this book and did so in about a day. I wasnt able to put the thing down. I grew up in Kitsap County, Port Orchard is my home town. As I read this book, it was exciting to know that when he was writing about the courthouse, ITS OUR COURTHOUSE. Everything was true to the lay out of Port Orchard. This book was so real to me that in the morning when I woke up, I got onto our local papers website, like I do every morning and was expecting to read something new about the "Kitsap Cutter". In response to the jerk who suggested that Gregg writes his own reviews, get real. Gregg is a wonderful author. He does not need to write his own good reviews. Thats what fans of his work are for. Of which I am one. And that is very offensive. If you have no proof....well you know what they say about when you assume things. Gregg, keep up the great work. We are all so proud of you. Don't let the uninformed few ruin it. You are greatly successful. We love you and we can't wait for the next book.

Shellie
