Description du produit

Présentation de l'éditeur

Take one NFL tight end, and one Marine, add one week and watch the sparks fly.

Bowen Murphy craved two things, football and Dylan. After high school he had football but he lost Dylan.

Dylan Sunday walked a different path, one laid down before him by his father and his grandfather. Losing Bo one day after discovering they shared more than football wasn’t part of the bargain.

Six years of missed connections and finally Dylan is able to come home to the man he left behind. The spectacle of the biggest game in the NFL is only the beginning of one sizzling week. After that time and fate would decide if Bo and Dylan would walk the same path, or if one of them would make the ultimate sacrifice.

Bittersweet tale of two hot men, making up for six years of separation. May not be suitable for sensitive readers.

A Hearts On Fire Review

FOUR & A HALF STARS--When you see Mercy Celeste as the author of a story, you should expect:

1) hot sexy Southern men (I adore!)
2) angst up the ying yang, where you are taken for a ride on an emotional roller coaster
3) dirty talking fun ;P
4)heart pacing, steamy sex (with some form of biting - I love that) :D

"Six Ways From Sunday" had all four of those qualities in spades. And for less than 90 pages, the ride is a fun, sad but most importantly memorable one.

Bowen and Dylan have been best friends forever in a steamy Florida town. We are introduced to Bowen learning his best friend and secret crush has enlisted in the Marines...and Bowen's on his way to college football and future NFL greatness. But what both young men admit to each other that day is a love that deepens through out the years.

They are separated for over six years, Bowen continues achieving NFL Superbowl heights and Dylan is no slouch in the Marine department either. Can these first loves withstand the separation, military life, the NFL (an entity within itself), being gay, etc.?

Oh boy, do they!! The amount of passion these two men carry for one another...let's just say it comes across quite eloquently within the tale. When these two meet again after all those years and can only share their bodies and hearts for just a week? *sigh* My cheeks still hurt from grinning so much.

And remember me mentioning that emotional roller coaster Mercy Celeste does so well? She's done it again to the point where you think there can be no light at the end of the tunnel. My heart flopped out of my chest and was making sad faces on the floor. But Celeste was able to put it back in and I can function again. Yes, there is a HEA, don't frown and think the worst, folks.

As a MM romance reader, you can pretty much expect HEA for an ending (HFN the less attractive brother is also accepted) What makes for a great author, in my opinion, is one who can twist you up, spit you out and put you together again while still making you believe in the power of love. I mean, that is the reason we read these stories, right?

Well Mercy Celeste has that in spades. In fact, she's done it again. I'm going to go rehash some of my favorite parts. Give this story a try, you will at the least be entertained, at the most, loving Dylan and Bowen.

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Really good story! 3 janvier 2014

This is the first book I have read written by Mercy Celeste. I've seen her on FB and have seen good things about her books, but just never had the chance to read one until now. I saw this one and the next for .99 on Amazon, and thought I'd give them a try, without really reading much or the description or any reviews.

It started out ok, but nothing too exciting, high school boys, big strapping football players, fooling around on the floor in Dylan's house for the first time. Homophobic parents, blah blah. Dylan joins the Marine Corp, Bowen goes to college and on to the NFL. An ok story, not bad, but no real surprise. Six years passes, at the Super Bowl they reunite. That was unique, caught my interest quick! Then we had some hot sex between them, which was great! A bit of drama, a tattoo, and a seperation....

Then it all changes. I won't spoil it here, but wow. Drama, pain, made me cry, I was a little concerned how it was going to end, and there it was.... The payoff! Happy, happy! Great ending, great story!

This story had a great message, true love lasts and pays off in the end. Hold true, believe, and survive. I'm not sure how realistic it was as far as Bo's acceptance by his NFL team mates and team staff, I would hope that would happen, but I'm not confident that it will anytime soon.

Overall this was an enjoyable book, I'll read the next one and look for more from this author!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 I was literally on the edge of my seat. I loved it ... 13 avril 2013

Let me explain my heading. All afternoon and evening and night I needed to do things. Get dinner, eat with the family, spend time with the in-laws, put the kids to bed and all of that time I stayed on the edge of my seat not wanting to go because I had to finish just a bit more. Wanted to know more about Dylan and Bo.
Well now that I am finished I just want to start again. Mercy does it yet again with her characters that steal my heart and take it thru the wringer with them. I love reading her stories and can't wait for the next one...
SWFS just makes me believe even more in the concept that marriage should be about love not gender. Just read it I loved it and if you loved it check out her back catalogue, I have loved getting lost in the mind of Mercy....

This book pulled at my heartstrings. I have said this before and I'll say it again.....this is first and foremost a love story. A story of 2 people who fall in love and how their lives follow a path of twists and turns often resulting in bad karma. It makes no difference that the lovers are both men. They are simply 2 people. I found the storyline to be engaging and also very hard to put down. So hard that I ended up reading it straight through til almost 3am on a work night. It had me hooked. I am a 65 yr old straight grandmother. I am quite liberal and not easily shocked. I find these different themed stories so beautiful and yet realize they are not for everyone. I do recommend this book but if you have any hangups regarding same sex relationships then this book is not for you. But if you are game , then go for it. The story is beautiful. Enjoy.

4.0 étoiles sur 5 A Sexy and Sweet Story 13 juin 2014

Not being a very long book, there are always changing scenes to keep the book moving. Bowen "Bo" Murphy and Dylan Sunday, have been neighbors and best friends since their early childhood. They have many sweet memories to recall from over the years, but two things that they share together is their great love for football, and surprising to them both, was the love that they share for each other. Each boy knew how they felt at a very early age, but feared that their friendship would end badly if either of them shared their confession. It wasn't until their high school graduation that both friends shared their feelings with one another. Bo went on to college to play football, while Dylan enlisted in the Marines, just as his father and grandfather had done many years before. Both of their paths led them down a path leading to successful careers. It wasn't until the Super Bowl six years after their high school graduation that Dylan surprised Bo, by leading two other Recon Marines into the opening of the game. They shared a romantic and promise filling week together before Dylan was shipped off to his next mission.

The story is a fast read, and quite a sweet one, as well. Mercy Celeste does a wonderful job filling in full descriptions of the love that they have and show for one another. At times, particularly in the beginning, the reader must play close attention to which character is which. It may have been helpful to fill the characters names in more often, especially in the beginning when their lives, personality and goals are being introduced. Sweet romance in every way!
