For Scottish telecom engineer Sam McLure, based in the North West of Scotland, being called out in the depths of winter, in the middle of the night to a fault in a remote junction box; it is only the beginning of his troubles.
When the local police find his Land Rover abandoned with a flat battery a couple of days later, there is no sign of Sam.
The fresh snow still displays his tracks up to the pole, and his harness is still attached twenty feet up and next to the junction box. There is nothing to show that he came down again and no other marks at all.
The police search his home, to find his passport and all his belongings still there. They also find a case of women’s clothes, and make a startling discovery. Sam has a secret.
