Présentation de l'éditeur

Lt. Commander Heskan and Komandor Lombardi have only one thing in common - the will to survive.

Bitter rivals for over a century, the Brevic Republic and the Hollaran Commonwealth are at war. Cultures that shared a common Terran ancestry have been isolated for decades. Now, Heskan's escort ships must protect Lombardi's heavy cruisers as they are forced to run together into unexplored space from a devastating threat. Each commander faces dissension in the ranks, even as they try to unite their fleets and find some way to escape the fate of so many of their fallen comrades. For the duration of the tenuous truce, there is a singular objective... make it home.

Yet there can be only one destination at the end of their journey, and only half of the fleet will be safe, if they reach the Republic or Commonwealth at all. If the warring governments cannot be trusted to secure safe passage of the allied crews, how can the two commanders trust each other?

Author’s Note: This is Book 3 in the This Corner of the Universe series, continuing the story of the original crew of BRS Anelace and her captain.

More twists and turns and great space action. The development of the main characters is terrific. We continue to learn more about the new alien threat. There were some definite surprises in the war between the Brevics and the Hollorans.
I hope Mr. Ringel is busily writing another book, not wasting his time reading glowing reviews on Amazon. :)
Seriously, this is the best science fiction I have read in years. Hard science fiction seems pretty scarce these days. I read my share of urban fantasy, but sometimes you just to have spaceships blowing up.

I like the excellent story with some unexpected twists and the telling of it. I particularly enjoy realistic SF with some complexity of tale and this has it in spades.
This is the best book of the series so far. The promise of the previous 2 books by Ringel is delivered in this one.
Looking forward to the next in the series.

I have to say that this was the best of the three so far. I enjoyed that others but this one had more depth to it and it seemed more real. The interactions of the characters were well done and the story was well written. I like the for lack of a better word the drama created and the decisions that had to be made. I'm look forward to the next one.

This is the best book yet in the series. Britt Ringel has really matured as a writer. His writing has developed some "soul", and pulls you into the story. He spins an engrossing yarn, and manage to insert some humor. There are battles, treachery, and a surprising twist that cought me by surprise. I hope he gets the next sequel out in a hurry.

This is the 3rd book in the series. Like the first two, it continues a single story. And that story is not complete. I eagerly await the next episode (for us old people, it's almost like those old movie serials like "King of the Rocket Men"). Britt's writing style remains very personal and detail oriented. Not only is there a good "bit picture", but he zooms in on details that I find fascinating. I know of and like many authors, but few seem to explain space warfare like Britt does. He really drives in the strangeness of doing long range fighting in an Einsteinan envelope. Where your target is 10 light seconds away (186,000,00 miles) and you're seen where it was 10 seconds ago. Hard to really aim even a light speed weapoin at something when you only know where it was 10 seconds ago. And your shot will only arrive at the target in 10 more seconds. Since the target, in the stories, are usually running at or above .1c (18,600 miles / second), they can travel 186,000 miles from the time of the shot, or 372,000 miles from where you last saw it. And .1c is the low end of the range. Makes me wonder how true space warfare would work. And explains why high speed, "intelligent" self-directed missiles are a necessity.
