I was given an early copy of the book and have been following the Yogalean lifestyle since July 7 and have lost 24 pounds and 24 inches. I have reorganized my life to make my health and fitness a priority for my 18 month old daughter and I. The program is straightforward and easy to follow and isn't a "diet". I love that Beth has incorporated so many things here...food, exercise, meditation, decluttering gratitude and giving back to the world. I will be forever grateful that Beth wrote this book and shared it with me. I have about 25 friends who have now joined me in the Yogalean lifestyle can't wait for their changes in body, mind and soul!

As a Certified Nutritionist and Holistic Health Coach, I felt like this book has little to offer while working your way towards healthy living. I would also venture to say, that much of the recipes and recommendations are outdated. Example: Ms. Shaw uses Agave Nectar as a recommendation in many of the recipes. Agave nectar is extracted from the agave plant and has a very high fructose content - generally 80-90% fructose - YIKES! Fructose is toxic to the liver and ultimately leads to metabolic syndrome, fatty liver and insulin resistance. Agave should be avoided. Anyone in the nutrition industry should know this. Ms. Shaw also encourages the use of low-fat Greek yogurt in many of the recipes. Low-fat anything is a key word for chemicals - if you are going to use Greek Yogurt - use the real deal. Fat is good for you in limited quantities.

Overall - some of the content is fine. It is a big push for Ms. Shaw's YogaFit School. I would not recommend this book to any of my clients.

This is a fantastic book. Beth Shaw really knows her stuff and is very experienced with not only yoga, but also with many other aspects of healthy living. I did not necessarily buy the book because I had a lot of weight to lose but I am always interested in trying to become healthier. This book is great for anyone interested in upping their game when it comes to health.

I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the writing and it exceeded my expectations in a very positive way. Is there information about a loss… Yes. But there is also quite a bit of information about healthy living in general.

I am looking forward to trying the recipes as they look delicious. There is also an app that is available with the book.

Incorporates yoga into a holistic healthy way of living. Easy to follow and packed with useful, practical information for daily living. I started incorporating some of the suggestions into my life and within days I started feeling better! I love it!

I was given the opportunity to review an amazing life changing book, YogaLean. This book is chock full of information on how to take your life and change it for the best. Yes, there are a ton of diet and exercise programs out there, but this one shows you how to mentally and physically change your lifestyle.

The book has two parts: The Power of Lean and Gaining Lean Consciousness. The first part of the book gives you all the background of yoga and the different parts. It shows you how to mentally achieve what you are trying to do. The "learning" section. The second part is the physical part. It shows you different yoga positions (which comes with amazing step by step photos, descriptions and the benefit of doing the pose), meditation, cardio and weight training, and most importantly, how to eat lean.

The section on eating lean is amazing. She breaks down what are considered good foods, how to eat them, store them and amazing recipes to try. I tried two of the soups right away and was not disappointed. I tried Beth's Immunity Soup (recipes for immunity). It was really good. I am going to try to eat this at least once a week. I also tried the Spicy Tomato Soup (metabolism recipes). Another home run. My daughter even liked this one.

Another part of the book that a lot of people will find very helpful, is The YogaLean One-Week Jumpstart. Here she maps out one week of what to eat, how to exercise, and how to meditate.

Like I stated before, this is a really amazing book and anyone who reads it, will learn from it. If you like yoga or want to physically and mentally get better, then this book is for you.
