This is the Zone book I've been waiting for since the first book came out. Dr. Sears' wife, Lynn Sears, shows simple, easy-to-cook recipes.

Not only are the recipes easy and fast, she explains how to look at labels on foods to figure out blocks, how to easily eat out in the Zone using the 'eyeball method' and how to Zone during holidays and special occations.

This book is my ZONE BIBLE.

Très bon livre, mais les recettes ne sont pas facilement réalisables car beaucoup d'ingrédients ne se trouvent pas en Belgique là où j'habite, donc des recettes qui ont l'air géniales ne peuvent être réalisées car il me manque plusieurs ingrédients. Domage

I've been eating the "zone" way for a couple of months now, and I love it-- I have a lot more energy, I'm not hungry, and I'm losing weight. (The number on the scale is decreasing *very slowly,* but I know that what I'm losing is all fat, because I look thinner and my clothes are looser for sure.)

Anyway, I want to keep eating this way forever, but it's a whole different way of eating and it requires a whole new set of recipes. This book is the most useful of the Zone books (at least for me, right now) because I don't need to hear about the theory anymore, I just need help implementing it.

And I could make up my own recipes or modify non-zone ones, but what a pain in the neck that would be! These recipes are already worked out-- for example, a way to make blueberry muffins that are zone-favorable. I never would have come up with that on my own.

The appendices in the back are also really helpful for a beginner like me. I consult them every day. I've loaned out my other zone books to friends who were interested in trying it, but this one I never loan out, because I use it every day.

I was very excited to get this cookbook so I could try any of the 150 meals in seconds. But after it finally arrived this afternoon I looked through and am very disappointed. If you could get any of these meals together in less than 45 mins I would shocked. I didn't need more complicated, time consuming zone recipes. I should have known based on it not allowing me to look inside.

The seller is great, the book itself not so much. It was in good condition, as described on Amazon and the seller shipped it quickly so A+ there. But the book itself was a waste of money. If i could give it a minus star I would. The intro is very boring and there wasn't anything in it that was quick and still tasted good. If you live on a tight budget the meals in this book would quickly exceed it. Most of the ingredients are not things you'd normally buy and have in your house. I'm just glad i purchased this item as "used" so

The title of this recipe book is somewhat misleading in that the meals will not take you mere seconds to make; however, with enough planning and some limited culinary skills you can whip up some delicious and very nutritious meals. The highlights of this book are: the introductory chapter explaining the purpose for and the background of the Zone Diet, the variety of meal types (breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks), the taste and satiety of meals, and the relative easy in preparing meals. The directions for preparing meals are simple and almost always correct, and the result is an excellent tasting meal 9 times out of 10. The principles of this diet have become a lifestyle for our family because we both enjoy the meals and recognize the benefits of the meals in our everyday physical and mental performance. We like the book so much we purchased a copy for both of our parents and a sister.

This book should be subtitled as meal planning rather than as a recipe book. It's great for someone who needs help putting the Zone diet in context for meal preparation, but for recipes, there are only a few. For most people, this book will not make a lot of sense. I'm familiar with the Furhaman diet, Don Colbert's detox diet as well as the Zone. I was hoping this was a recipe book to help me with new meal ideas. Also, this is not a book for vegetarians or vegans. Besides being a vegetarian, I have egg, oat, and peanut allergies. This book left me out of almost every idea presented. I seldom return a book, but this one went back.
