5.0 étoiles sur 5 A Mindset Shifting Book! 29 août 2016
Par Bouchra Rebiai - Publié sur Amazon.com
Format: Format Kindle Achat vérifié
What should I say? Or rather, what will suffice to describe this great book? It's just 109 pages, but it's 109 pages of sheer inspiration and pure motivation.

If you're not an entrepreneur, this book will make you stop in your tracks and think - okay, how can I become an entrepreneur, an agent of change in the Muslim Ummah? What can I do to help create an entrepreneurial economy and mindset within my community - and the global Muslim Ummah?

If you're an entrepreneur, like I am, alhamdulillah, you will definitely start thinking about how you can align your business goals with Islam and its moral values more and more, to level up to higher business strategies and practices, that aren't just spiritually higher but that will also double and triple your revenues.

This book is chock-full of valuable advice and stories that shake your fundamental ideas about business, money, and spirituality/religion from their core. You will emerge with a mindset that will empower you to make more money, and as Khuram Malik says in the book: replace every single bad idea you have about money by substituting the word money for something mundane, like "sandwiches". I personally am glad that there is no bad idea out there linking money to getting fat, otherwise this might not have worked very well for me, as someone who believes in the benefits of a low-carb diet. But by all means, I think we can substitute it for something equally mundane like "Caesar salad". Whatever floats your boat, as long as it gets you out of the negative thinking related to money that we're all raised on.

I think even non-Muslims stand to gain from this book. While it is quite denominational and Muslim-centric, there are lots of important values to be learned from this book that can be stripped from the denominational layers and taken as lessons for humanity at their very core. Khuram Malik promotes the idea of businesses that are value-centric and human-centric, rather than driven by profit margins and annual revenues. He mentions a number of businesses that are owned by non-Muslims that do great work for humanity. Businesses that ensure the happiness of their employees and customers, and are aware of the impact they have on society as a whole. Businesses that operate on 50-50 models, where 50% of the work is paid and the other 50% is pro-bono.

At end, I feel there is no review that will suffice to summarize the impact this book will have on your thoughts. I only hope that it can reach all 1.7 billion Muslims someday. I can only imagine the drastic amount of change in the way our Ummah thinks!

5.0 étoiles sur 5 Every aspiring, struggling, or successful entrepreneur should read this! 27 août 2016

A well-written, engaging, and persuasive read. Mr. Malik's own moral compass as an entrepreneur shines through the book. He lays a strong, evidence-based argument for the necessity of Muslims to escape financial slavery in pursuit of financial freedom. He advocates for believing in one's truth I.e. intuition, under the umbrella of Islamic ethics. Examples of successful individuals and corporations that started from nothing, inspire the reader with an entrepreneurial spirit. Overall, a balanced and inspiring book reminding the reader that success is comprised of exploring plus embracing change and risk, not letting failure put your candle out, and working hard, all the while keeping your moral compass uncompromised.

I really enjoyed reading the Billion Dollar Muslim. I am not a very avid reader, but I do listen to a lot of audiobooks. This book was different though. I started reading and it just captured my interest from right from the first paragraph.

I think the basic foundations of honest business has been forgot by some entrepreneurs, but its the ones that still have the foundation and apply the sunnah of our beloved messenger (pbuh) that seem to achieve peace, success and are focused on making the most important investment for themselves, the akhirah.

I can only imagine if these foundations were instilled in more hearts and minds of entrepreneurs in the world, we would have even more prominent and successful entrepreneurs that would be ideal role models for their families and the generations to come.

Earning a halal income isn’t taboo and it only gets better by having the right intentions and a pure heart.

I cannot wait to read the rest of the book and continue to be inspired, insha’Allah.

If your looking to change your mindset then you need to pick up this book today and get ready to be inspired.
5.0 étoiles sur 5 Billion Dollar Muslim amazingly inspired me to be the change I want to see in this world. 1 septembre 2016

Billion Dollar Muslim, a 109-page book written by Khuram Malik, is a highly inspirational book which emphasizes the importance of entrepreneurship for Muslims. It's an absolute spiritual inspiration. If you're not an entrepreneur, then this book is for you to be inspired and encouraged to pursue this path. If you are an entrepreneur, then this book is also for you to keep up what you're doing and be more successful.

Billion Dollar Muslim is written as a series of mini-essays that you can enjoy separately and not feel like you forgot what you read and have to go back and read over again. Each of the essays consisted of very inspiring stories about people who succeeded to realize the necessity of entrepreneurship and those who failed, all of which I learned important lessons from.

The reason why I loved this book is that after a long struggle of trying to figure out how I should get rid of the 9-6 job constraints I have, it instantly convinced me to go down the entrepreneurial path. It didn't take me long after I started reading the book until I made my decision. Yes, it's that convincing and inspiring.

I hated working for other people, and those around me knew that about me. But circumstances can make us decide against our desires sometimes. I always used to tell my friends and family that it's best to have our own business, be free, and not work for anyone. This book encourages just that. Allah brought us into this world to make big positive changes and this won't be possible if we don't have full control over our job. That best way to do that is to be our own boss. We have great capabilities in shaa Allah and we should put them to work while we're still young.

I also loved the fact that Billion Dollar Muslim focuses on having our own businesses as a means of silent Daawah. By practicing the Sunnah in our work and aligning our work with the teachings of Islam, other people, especially our clients, will see our good conduct and be positively affected by our ways of doing business. Hence, people will think "If their religion shows them to act this way in business, then what will it be telling them to do in other matters of life?". This thought will intrigue their curiosity to know more about Islam and this will be the result of us doing work with them, without saying a word of Daawah.

As Muslims, we should lead positive and meaningful change in this world, we should dream big, we should have high ambitions. Becoming an entrepreneur puts so much power into our hands because being an entrepreneur means that we’ll be doers, we’ll be responsible for making changes others will visualize in shaa Allah.

We might fail at first. But we should persist, learn, and get back up. That’s very essential for our success. We should purify our intentions, make a lot of effort, have faith in Allah (swt), and rely on Him with the rest. We should always be optimistic and keep one important thing in mind: We should be strong individuals in society and take lead of change. We should never settle for less than that because we are capable in shaa Allah.

Billion Dollar Muslim changed my perspective toward business and life in general, it amazingly inspired me to be the change I want to see in this world in shaa Allah.

I highly recommend this book to everyone, entrepreneur or not.
