Le colis est arrivé avec un petit jour d'avance sur la période de deux semaines annoncée, donc très contente :) de plus le livre est parfaitement bien emballé( entouré de papier bulles, entouré lui d'un morceau de carton qui faisait tout le livre. je recommande et inutile de l'acheter en français, il n'y a que quelques mots en anglais, largement compréhensible, il coûte 30 euros de moins en anglais

Magnifique livre. J’ai bien fais d’acheter le version originale car la VF est plus chère que celle ci. Et vu le peu de texte il n’est pas difficile de traduire les 3 lignes sous chaque photos. N’hesitez Pas il est vmt top.

A beautiful traditional styled 'coffee table' book, printed on high quality paper, providing a great insight into the graphic design process of all eight Harry potter films (not the Fantastic Beasts series, as there are separate books for that such as The Art of the Film: Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them ).

It includes not only hundreds of pieces of stunning pre-production artwork - which are wonderful in themselves - but also sections for things like maps, set construction blueprints, and the MinaLima graphical elements from the Wizarding World such as 'Wanted' posters, product labels, wizard book covers, etc. Don't expect a lot of textual content though, most of the wording is simply to caption the gorgeous artwork, which is of course what the book is designed to showcase.

The only negative point is that although this is a British edition of the book, from UK company Titan Books, about a British series of films, and largely British artists, the wording from the American author/editor continually refers to the first book and film by the American dumbed-down title of "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" instead of the original "Philosopher's Stone". The correct original title is used in the blurb on the back-cover insert sheet and other promotional material such as the Amazon product note though. A minor point I know, but still irritating in an otherwise pretty-much flawless book.

Incidentally, some of the original artwork from this book is on display at Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, The Making of Harry Potter - along with so much more original material such as sets, costumes, props, models, etc. Well worth a visit if you can get there.

I got this as our nine year old is into Harry Potter and likes the first two of the illustrated editions of the novels and the first three of the films. As this has art that covers all of the films I thought it would help scratch the Harry Potter itch until he is old enough to enjoy the more adult, darker further adventures. It is a stunning book with lovely glossy pages, some fold out sections and a wide range of sketches and paintings. Our nine old loves looking at it and trying to predict how the art fits into the stories and adventures. it is really aimed at the grown up fans to appreciate as some of the film art is very much aimed at someone who has fully absorbed the world e.g. tiny details on newspaper articles. Impressive!

I really enjoy the Harry Potter series of books (especially when read by Stephen Fry) as well as the films, although probably less so.
Unfortunately there have been a large number of rather poor Harry Potter spin offs, such as the 'Magical Beasts' film. However this titanic book is not one of them: this is a book of artwork - drawings, sketches and paintings - from the films arranged in topics rather than chronologically. The artwork is outstanding and I thoroughly recommend this book which is perfect for the browser and will be enjoyed by those who love illustrations as well as Harry Potter fans.

A nice addition to your harry potter collection. If you're a harry potter nut then you'll enjoy this. Its interesting to see the different art work and how much detail gone into it. It would be a great addition to any coffee table.

This book is amazing. The artwork and attention to detail is truly stunning. I bought it as a present for my husband and he loves it, so does anyone who visits even if they're not Harry Potter fans because every page is lovely. It's a very big coffee table style book and pretty heavy. The Hogwarts floor plan that folds out inside is so cool.
