Patricia Cornwell’s “Flesh and Blood” is a well-constructed story with highly developed characters which shows her insight into the human nature, portraying Dr. Kay Scarpetta in a very engaging manner. This excellent characterization is supported by a brilliant plot and a smooth narration and succinct dialogue. The colorfulness of this story reminds me of “Triple Agent Double Cross”, and “Deadline”. In fact, “Flesh and Blood” has all the attributes of a well written story and comes with enough surprises to keep a reader in suspense all the way to the last page. Overall, I find the story very entertaining.

ISIs operates more or less like a Nihilist movement, but with the coat of Islam. And Jay Sekulow did a good job providing an insight into this barbaric organization. And as it is written in the book "Terror: Political Weapon, Social Infection, Dehumanizer", ISIS's ideology, method and limitations will see it crumbling not long from now.

I like the complexity of the characters, some of the plots and finesse of the narratives. The book captivated me. In ways like The Usurper and Other Stories, and like A Twist in the Tale. Worth reading again, especially since it is very intelligently written.

I am in a sort of loss for the right words to use to describe this book. For a start, it is well-written with details that are baffling. The pacing added more spice to the narration and dialogue and the rich array of characters made the events there very believable. One can easily picture the different characters even in their difficult if not bizarre situations. In a style like in Triple Agent Double Cross, the smooth flow of the narrative is easy to follow. Kudos Catherine Coulter.

Be Careful What You Wish is as enjoyable as the other books in the series. With an amazing plot and highly credible character development of the protagonists and others in the book, the Jeffrey Archer combined these with his great knowledge of the time to accomplish such an outstanding story that is worthy of read. I enjoyed it a lot and recommend it to all readers who like unique books especially sagas of such a wide scope. I equally enjoyed Disciples of Fortune, Kane and Abel.

Ce commentaire fait référence à cette édition : The Misremembered Man (Broché)
It makes my day when I find myself blessed with a memorable and hilarious story. The Misremembered Man turned out to be one of the stories that alters my thoughts and feelings for the better whenever I think about it. I enjoyed virtually every part of it. The characters are very true to life with challenges, fears, hopes and dreams that are so real. They actions are real too, which all combined with the excellent narration and plot to make this book the wonderful story that it is. I came to the last page ruing why it ended to fast. here are few stories like The Kite Runner, Water for Elephants, Flash of the Sun, that left me feeling that way.

I am in a sort of loss here when it comes to describing Sidney Poitier's "The Measure of a Man". It is well written and presents the values we need to live purposeful lives in a very well-tailored manner. Deriving joy in our every day lives is another theme that is well talked about in this book. Comic as it present itself, book and Janvier Chando's "Father and Sons" spell out values and the joy of life very well.

Mahfouz is an amazing writer. So it is not surprising that this book is a great story. A brilliant portrayal of Middle eastern and more especially Arab life, Mahfouz succinctly captured in this book the rich and wonderful cultural lives of men and women in Egypt in the first half of the last century. Above all, it tells a story of people in a time when their land is trying to shake off the degrading legacies of colonialism and find a new sense of dignity.A recommended read along with Disciples of Fortune, The Day the Leader Was Killed, The Usurper: and Other Stories, Triple Agent, Double Cross. Mahfouz is my favorite author from North Africa and the Middle East.

Beasts of No Nation rings true in the countless civil wars that have ravaged Africa from the East (Somalia, Congo, Rwanda) to the South (Mozambique and Angola) the West (Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria) and in Algeria and Sudan. The underlying theme of teenage soldiers being used for a cause against their comprehension is a dehumanizing crime that should be met with the harshest of punishment against the perpetrators. Also seen in Triple Agent, Double Cross, The Biafra Story: The Making of an African Legend, Disciples of Fortune, Shake Hands with the Devil: The Failure of Humanity in Rwanda, we find that the scar of war leaves a haunting legacy in the lives of children, especially the children who killed.

This book is extremely interesting and the writer did a brilliant job work of presenting the conflicts in the protagonist's soul. I thoroughly enjoyed it and had a better idea of why those who experience two worlds easily identify with one , especially the world that does not look down on them. It is an insightful theme which I also came across in Disciples of Fortune, Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance, The Color of Water: A Black Man's Tribute to His White Mother, Midaq Alley. The story is also colorful and fast-paced.
