Description du produit

CULTE !

Let me shut that for you et Cold Hard fact balancent bien, et l'instru est réussie.

The Battle, the war !!!!

3.0 étoiles sur 5 The first good album from a leauge of greats. 24 janvier 2013

I liked the Killing Kind when I first purchased it. And I still do. It starts off with "Battle." This track has a nice riff and you can actually hear the bass!? That's what I have always loved about the guys, the bass isn't just used to fill a gap between drums and guitars. No the bass is its own instrument and the guys use it to the best of its ability. D.D. Verni is great. This track suffers from too many "Yeahs" other than that it is a rocking track and really nice. God-Like is intense. I highly recommend the potential customer of this album to check that track out. Certifiable is practically a thrasher but it suffers from too many uses of the word "WHOA!!!" next is Burn You Down/To Ashes. Starts off in typical Overkill fashion, creepy. The when have Bobby whispering and with the guitar behind his voice really adds a suspensful sound. But it suffers from the continued use of the words "If your not afraid." But the song picks up around the 4:25 mark and it becomes a tolerable track again. Next track is Let Me Shut That For You. The only thing is wish he would shut would be his mouth going "Yeaaah! Yeaah! Yeaah!" but after all that stuff the gang shouts are done in classic East Coast fashion and the track is actually good. Bold Face Pagan Stomp, recycled and reused from the song I Hear Black. They are both incredibly similar but I'm not sure if this track is good or just weird... It confuses me but it is worth checking out. Feeding Frenzy has a nice bass intro up to the 1:30 mark then it fades into the guitar work and right when it builds back up the bass comes back in. Its a weird instrumental but leads into the next track The Cleansing. It starts off with a simple but cool riff that sounds intense and powerful. This is a nice groove metal track and ends with a creepy chorus I'm not too sure what to make of it but it is one of the best tracks off the album. The Mourning After/Private Bleeding, is the 1996 version of "The Years Of Decay." It doesn't hold the same intensity or depressing yet inspiring lyrics but it is a decent track compared to some others on here. Cold, Hard Fact, starts off with another groove metal track with backing gang vocals, the guitars are heavy. This track has the best solo off the album. Overall, this is an improvement over W.F.O production wise but lyrically and musically it seems redundant. A lot of people say Necroshine was their experimental album. I think they had two. The Killing Kind was the first experiment and didn't have the effect the guys planned. Its not a bad album, its just there isn't anything too special to remember it by compared to the likes of Horrorscope, Years Of Decay, Taking Over, and even I Hear Black.

This album is a logical progression from 1994's "W.F.O." but it's more punky and more bikerish but still pretty thrashy. I really like this album. There are only two songs on it that I don't care for: "Bold Face Pagan Stomp" and "The Mourning After/Private Bleeding". I love "The Cleansing", "Feeding Frenzy" and "Let Me Shut That For You". This is a quality album and was released in 1996 when watered down metal was popular. I have great respect for Overkill for staying true to their style and releasing albums throughout the 90's when most of the thrash bands from the 80's just disappeared. Also their 5th album, "Horrorscope", wasn't their "Black Album" like Metallica, Megadeth, Testament, Exodus, Sepultura, and Coroner. Am I missing anyone else who sold out or simplified their style? If you liked "W.F.O." you won't be disappointed by this. Also if you like good quality 90's thrash, this is definately an album you should get.

I remember getting this cassette when I was younger, and this album is one of my favorites as well. All of the songs on Overkill's 'The Killing Kind' are well-written,and very catchy:)I actually remember the track 'God-Like' very fondly... it's a mid-paced track with thick,hard-hitting guitars that finish off with a solo that starts at normal speed and builds into a frenzy of breakneck speed soloing that takes off like a rocket!!The rest of the album is just as good but I better not spoil the rest. Why are you still reading these reviews?GO GET THE ALBUM!

Yes indeed I am saying that this is better than all the albums from the somewhat overrated Gustafson era of the band (I can just see the torch and pitchfork mob coming for me now) and even better than the mighty Horrorscope. All of the best elements of both past and present day Overkill are here in abundance and pulled off quite perfectly and at least two of their top 5 best songs are on here. Best songs are Burn You Down/To Ashes, Bold Face Pagan Stomp, Cold Hard Fact, The Cleansing, Morning After/Private Bleeding, Let Me Shut That For You and God-Like.
