The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox
le 30 mai 2010
An enjoyable read, to be sure. When I told a friend that I was starting to really appreciate the Gothic novel (think DuMaurier's Rebecca, Collins' The Woman in White, the Bronte sisters, etc), she recommended O'Farrell's book to me. While it isn't the same level as Bronte or DuMaurier, I was engrossed from page one. The relationship between the sisters in this book was really compelling. There were enough plot twists that I was never bored and never entirely "on top" of things. I enjoyed O'Farrell's writing style, and after having read her book, found myself back on Amazon, ordering her other novels.
