Good but not enough

I think this book is very interesting, but there's no way that you'll easily get loads of offers just from reading it (as claimed on the cover and inside the book). It gives you a good understanding of why you should do certain things, but it doesn't explain very well how you're supposed to actually do it. Very few examples. Furthermore, most of the information is available for free on the author's website and newsletter anyway. I read this book twice and used other materials from the author (like the "look over my shoulder" program) and found that they didn't really prepare me for the actual interviews, because they focus mostly on the "interviewee led" type of cases (where you mostly focus on asking questions and organising the information you get), whereas my interviews (McKinsey & BCG) were all interviewer led and they expected you to come up with a lot more ideas and insights by yourself (which this book and the other materials don't really help with), and it's not clear how you can use the insights of the book in that context.
