This book is the autobiography of an American lady now living in France. Such stories appeal to me, as an English woman living in Paris, but this is not the typical humoristic analysis of differing cultural perceptions or the antics of a foreigner in France. This book chronicles Jennie's life journey on both a spiritual and physical level. Jennie has literally traveled the world as a student, teacher, high-flying business woman, and a missionary. She has also gone through many tragedies and had her moments of joy that are related in her story and made her who she is, including how she comes to a faith in God. Her story is absorbing and is well written. I recommend this book for anyone, perhaps specifically other women who can find encouragement in this book in overcoming life's hardships, but anyone who wants a good read about an interesting life. Jennie's life is far from over, her book ends with her as a mother of three young children - I hope that there will be a part two in a few years time!
