Take No More is a well crafted thriller by Seb Kirby. You feel you are right there trying to make sense of the situation with Jim Blake, the main character. He's shocked by the murder of his wife yet having to deal with being suspected of being the perpetrator. The intricacies of the plot twists, the vibrancy of setting and the intriguing characters keep you going all the way to the last word. It's a compelling, clever tale and not to be missed. I enjoyed it it immensely.

This is the debut book for Seb Kirby .London to Venice and Florence. Mystery, suspense and danger from the underworld. The author moves quickly between the characters, which gives an overview of events, past and present. He always manages to keep you in the picture. Some books have a tendency to drive in too many directions until you lose the plot but not this book. All the characters are well written

Having a brief conversation with the lovely Ignite about the book, I agreed with her on the fact that this book would make an amazing movie. So that's how I'll review it. This book has all the ingredients that you would expect in a fast-paced Thriller, with suspense, action, and a plot that skilfully brings together people who wouldn't have had anything to do with each other otherwise, through some really interesting twists. You want those things in a good movie. Here, you have them in a book.
As a reader, I got sucked in right from the beginning. It was a pleasure to read, and was for me one of those books that were hard to put down. A fantastic read, highly recommended !

No, my math isn't fuzzy. Combine a great 4 star story full of exotic locations (that the author obviously knows intimately), fabulously drawn characters and an excellent and inventive plot, add an extra star for Seb Kirby's style and that gives you ten on the readability scale. The book veers from first to third person expertly but, for this reader, the first person tone was most enthralling. It was a few pages before I realized what I was reading: a sort of modern noir. I walked in the hero's shoes, was privy to his thoughts and intruded on his emotions as he was drawn into the mystery of his wife's death. Kirby's spare yet rich prose, his perfect word choices, made this a work that appeared to be effortlessly constructed. That seamlessness is the hallmark of a gifted writer. Definitely recommended.

Wow! This is action-packed from page one, and the reader is instantly thurst into murder, suspense, and intrigue.

James is just a normal guy who thinks he has a normal life. Until the murder of his wife. He's forced on a journey from the UK to Italy to find her killers, and finds himself in the midst of a powerful Italian family, the hunt for precious works of art, and danger at every turn.

The writing gives you the feel of actually being in Italy - you can taste and smell it. The plot is action-packed and a real page-turner.

I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys a great crime thriller! And fans of Harlan Coben and Simon Kernick will love it!

I really enjoyed my recent read of `Take no More'.

I enjoyed the setting in Italy and I liked the way you linked your story around the murder mystery and the main topic, which was the hunt for missing paintings, and the main protagonist looking for his lost love.

`Take no More' is a very good read, well plotted and together with the twists and turns, and some horrible ruthless criminals me enthralled from beginning to end.

Well done and good luck with this.

TAKE NO MORE is my favorite kind of thriller: an ordinary person is thrust into extraordinary circumstances and must develop the skills to overcome them. In this case, a husband tries to investigate his wife's unexplained death, and in doing so, finds himself thrust into the world of art restoration, priceless works of art, and a powerful Italian family with all sorts of secrets. Most of it is set in the city of Florence, and the author has clearly done his homework -- reading the novel is like taking a trip to Italy. Bottom line: If you like Daniel Silva, you'll love TAKE NO MORE.

Judge the Book By Its Cover

In this instance, at any rate, you should.

I was attracted by the fragile serenity of the image on the front cover. It just screamed havoc and mayhem to me.

And I wasn't mistaken.

The setting of the most of the action added to the attraction. After Dubrovnik, Florence is my favourite city in the world. And the background of arts and renaissance paintings is what makes this thriller rather unique.

Seb Kirby is handling the storyline deftly and with gusto. The plot is impregnated with an dark wicked passions and lethal intrigue worthy of the Borgias and the Medicis, and it's populated with strong, well drawn characters.

Roman policier moyen; la partie se déroulant à Londres est meilleure que celle de Florence. Intrigue quelque peu invraisemblable. Plaisant, sans plus. Langage assez élégant.

I loved this book from the beginning to the end. Easy to read, the plot is good and one really feels for James throughout the story.
