This is a book which I did not think would be terribly interesting and which turned out to be informative and engrossing. We learn a lot about ourselves and other people, about children, about interactions in society.
Ian Leslie enlarges the subject of lying to include self-deceptions of all kinds and brings in numerous references and quotations on the subject. As a result the narrow subject of lying is enlarged to include most human relationships, sometimes humorous and always provocative. Since we all lie and have to continue lying to live in society, I recommend this book.
