Of course this is a film by Jean Rouch. It's so fantastic that this man was able to find financial backing for all of his pioneering ethnographical documentaries from primarily Africa. We are talking films of the 50's and 60's. And then there is this film that breaks new land not only technically - working with syncsound 16mm lightweight equipment - but also when turning the lens towards mainly the people of Paris. And the forever curious Marceline Loridan asking people questions on happiness and life in general. And who later on made some exquisite documentaries with Joris Ivens from Vietnam. It's living history that is so rare to find. Watch it. VHJ
