"Waking Up Naked: A Memoir" is the autobiographical sequel to the earlier "I Have Mine . . . Show Me Yours," and begins where "I Have Mine . . ." left off. Grant Handgis is a natural born storyteller, and his writing flows with an honesty, energy and wit which demonstrate that he has lived a rich and varied life. "Waking Up Naked" also demonstrates the author's ability to look at his life and very own unique thought process, and own it. This memoir is very humorous, but its underpinning could not be more serious: The author has looked at his life, taken hold of it, examined it, owned it and can still laugh with us.

Socrates said, "The unexamined life in not worth living." Grant Handgis is saying, "The examined life can be a blast."

Waking up Naked sets the stage as a perfect example of how falling hard in to love with a mere stranger and a wish to share that love by the way of a passionate zest for wanderlust can lead us upon a journey of ups and downs and sideways experiences that eventually culminate in the learning of Lessons in life that no formal or otherwise academic setting could ever succeed in teaching the elusive awareness of Reality. The author has done a wonderful job in spinning a tale here that will often remind the reader that its OK to wake up and enjoy your own journey. Naked or not!
