Riveting and concise read,
Ce commentaire fait référence à cette édition : The Big Short - Inside the Doomsday Machine (Relié)
To those who think "Too Big to Fail" is too big to read, I highly recommend Michael Lewis' "Big Short." He has a riveting writing style and makes ostensibly complex financial instruments and scenarios easy to understand. At the same time, he clearly explains the devastating effect the abuse of such instruments had on the global economy. It's the book I had been looking for to make sense of what happened these last few years.
More than just an eloquent history, Lewis' Big Short made me question my belief in a geared capitalist structure that is regulated by inadequately qualified and conflicted individuals - not to mention managed by people clearly ignorant of the risks lurking behind their bonus pools. Make your own mind up - but I would encourage even the most ardent Wall Street trader to read this book and question what you are doing, whether you really know what you are doing, and why you are doing it. I came away saddened and upset - and convinced that we have not fundamentally rectified the causes of the financial crisis.
Funny, thought-provoking, and insightful - I highly recommend it!
